Just as everyone started to wind down after the holidays, Thumper turned 2. We celebrated with a giant cake, 9 out of her 10 cousins (we miss you Cody!) and a brand new party dress. She wasn't so sure about everyone singing Happy Birthday while looking right at her (it is kind of unsettling if you're not used to it, I suppose), but she loved her cake and gift (princess shoes and a doll), and had a blast with the cousins. Happy birthday sweet girl!
70 degrees, wet and humid But still plenty of Christmas spirit among the kids, who spent their days digging for worms and riding bikes and skateboards.
We live down the street from a 19th century water mill that hosts a special Christmas event for kids every year, including carolers dressed in Civil War garb, hot chocolate and a fireside chat with Santa inside the mill. (You can guess what the youngest said about the bearded man: "NO WAY.")
