A star is born

Xman was the 'star' of his Christmas play. Literally. His duties included holding a star up to his face and singing along with the rest of his class of 'kings.' He did it perfectly, and made us so proud. Let's just hope the fame doesn't go to his head.

Anticipation

Only one braved Santa's lap. The smallest Who from Whoville declared the old man to be 'too tary.'

So we were too busy with Thanksgiving to think to take a single picture. But I did find this shot online from the Gingerbread Man race that the kids ran in the next day. For a small donation to a local kids charity, preschoolers are allowed to chase a Gingerbread Man through the streets of the Reston Town Center. Brilliant.

Here's the neighborhood kids just before go-time. Kit Kat is playing a bit of "Where's Waldo?" She's tucked behind Minny Mouse.

Halloween

She was a dragon until she wasn't (we'll blame Hurricane Sandy for losing her dragon costume some time between the neighborhood parade and Halloween). So our littlest also became Soccer Player Girl. And of course, Xman is 'Strong Legs McGee.' I was "Mean Mommy" and dad was, well, "dad who worked all day in an office." 

The human head weighs 8 lbs...

The same day he got glasses, he says to me: "Mom, did you know that spiders have 6 to 8 eyes?" It was something he learned at preschool that day. It was a bit Jerry McGuire-ish, and so very cute.

The H's come to test drive parenthood

Sing-a-longs, the Space Museum, a pumpkin patch and a trip to the breakfast store.
