We celebrated Kit Kat's birthday with 10 of her school buddies at a local gymnasium, where the kids jumped on a trampoline and bounce houses, used a zip line and jumped in a foam pit. (Don't make me explain the tutu.)
Truth be told, she could have had 1 friend at home and been just as happy. But I wanted her 5th to be special. We talked a lot about it how turning 5 was a big milestone. And the next time I reminded her to do something, she says "Sorry mom. I'm new at being 5. I don't know how to act yet."
